Bowlers from Canada, Australia, and the Southwest joined Seattle bowlers in the first Northwest Open Rinks Tournament held at Jefferson Park.
The field of eight teams played a round robin tournament of seven games. After two days of competition, the team of Jeff Covell, Todd Wagers, John Johnson, and Andy Klubberud came out on top, with a perfect 7-0 record.
There was a three-way tie for second place on win points (each team with 4 wins), with the team of Rand Coburn, Howard Syder, John Koch, and Pam Odle grabbing 2nd on plus points.
Although the days were long, players gladly lingered to enjoy the Last End Lounge and soak in the views. A great beginning to what will be a long tradition at Jefferson Park.
