In what has been as predictable as the Blue Angels flying overhead in August … Nancy Nishikawa will represent the Northwest Division in Singles at the US Championships.

Most folks have lost track of how many times Nancy has won the Women's Singles Playdown. She accomplished that feat again this year. But it wasn't easy.

The level of play has truly risen in the last few years, and Sunday's crowd was treated with a nail-biter in which Rikki Ricard edged out Nancy, 21-17.

In the round robin tourney, Nancy ended up tied in points with Janice Bell. But since Nancy defeated Janice in their game against each other, Nancy was declared the winner (Full results here).

She now has "home green" advantage for the championships and we will all be cheering her on.
